Beds are firm and well-dressed with excellent linen; a pillow menu is offered on request. Garden-facing rooms are very quiet. Street-facing Classic rooms pick up a little evening noise from the street — if you sleep before midnight, ask for a garden-facing room.

Bath stone and brass, generous, with good water pressure and consistent hot water. Roll-top baths are in suites only. Toiletries are a house line, decent rather than memorable.
